Online Course: Gita Life

Registration is closed for this event

The Course

The Bhagavad-gita is a theological and philosophical classic. In 700 concise verses, it summarises the conclusions of the Vedas, ancient scriptures written approximately 5000 years ago in the Sanskrit language. It covers topics ranging from religion to relationships, science to sociology, leadership to lifestyle management: the keys to all aspects of life, the universe and everything. For thousands of years, it has been a source of limitless inspiration for thinkers, leaders, and spiritual seekers.

The Gita, however, is best understood in the company of other spiritualists, where it can be discussed and dissected. Over 10 thought-provoking and interactive sessions, the Gita Life course provides a chapter-by-chapter summary, giving very relevant themes and life lessons from this historical epic. Each session is recorded and the audio and slides are sent out, so even if you cannot attend all the sessions in person, you'll be able to catch up in your own time.

About Sutapa Das

Sutapa Das is a resident monk at ISKCON UK’s headquarters, Bhaktivedanta Manor. He oversees the
monastic programme, leads on national outreach projects, and is a mentor and counsellor for the
community’s youth groups. He has written and teaches courses on spirituality, lifestyle
management, success principles, and devotional practices at the affiliated college. He also lectures
at universities, including UCL, Cambridge, Kings College and SOAS.

For the past twenty years, Sutapa has studied ancient Sanskrit texts in depth, particularly the
Bhagavad-gita, and has a passion to share the insights and worldviews these texts offer. He has
authored eight books, some of which are guides on scripture and theology. Himself from London
suburbs, Sutapa was always attracted to the idea of ’simple living, high thinking’. In 2002, after
graduating from UCL with a BSc in Information Management, he adopted full-time monastic life to
further his knowledge, deepen his spirituality, and share these timeless principles with the wider
society.
