Description of course

The School of Bhakti is delighted to open its doors and invite you to the world of Yoga offering you an experience which is physically stimulating, mentally relaxing, and spiritually uplifting.

Yoga is commonly understood as a therapy or exercise system for health and fitness. There is evidence that regular yoga practice is beneficial for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, aches and pains, depression and stress, to name a few conditions. While good physical and mental health are natural consequences of yoga, the approach of yoga is more far-reaching and holistic.

The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to unite’. The practice of Yoga leads to harmony between mind and body, and rigorous practice leads to the union of soul (Atma) with supersoul (Paramatma). This makes it possible to stay grounded and experience inner peace by connecting to the eternal absolute truth.

Manjari is a Sanskrit word which primarily means a "collection". Manjari also has a meaning of a collection of flowers or bouquets. Here at Manjari yoga we would like to offer you a variety of spiritual tools you can add to your transcendental bouquet of Bhakti!

What to expect on the course?

· An hour of Hatha/Vinyasa yoga: postures and a series of movements to help develop a balance of physical strength and flexibility. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose.

· Pranayama: Prana, the vital force, regulates all physical functions: breathing, supply of oxygen, digestion, elimination etc. and Yama means control. Pranayama consists of concentrating on one’s breathing followed by wilful regulation of respiration as the vital function for one’s existence. It helps in developing awareness of one’s mind and brings a level of stillness, besides many other physiological and health benefits.

· Guided meditation: deep relaxation of the mind. You can expect some Mantra meditation too!

As with any form of exercise, the technique and timing of each exercise are crucial. Practicing Yoga in the company of an instructor, with concentration and with regularity helps achieve the best results. With such a cherubic instructor as Kishori, you are guaranteed to keep your smile throughout the session and leave with a spring in your step.

Classes are for all genders, ages and abilities and will progress to be more at an intermediate level with time.

Teacher Bio

Kishori was brought up in the very south of England in a picturesque beach holiday destination, the Isle of Wight. After her studies, Kishori decided to venture out to the city of London where she worked within the television industry. After quickly realising the competitive city life wasn't for her, she decided to travel. Her curious adventurous side led her to travel to different parts of Europe, Thailand, Australia, and India. Since then, Kishori has found herself deeply rooted and settled into the Bhakti Yoga tradition and has a passion to share this universal way of life with others.

Kishori is a qualified hypnotherapist and is finishing off her studies in psychotherapy. Having studied the mind and worked with many different people, Kishori is passionate about using yoga as a tool to not only bring balance and strength to the body but also to nourish and calm the mind.

Kishori completed 500hr RYT teacher training, teaches Hatha yoga with a “Vinyasa flow” and you can be sure she will also weave some Bhakti yoga in there also!

“I’m committed to share with you authentic rich yoga and mindfulness practices. My classes will provide you with an opportunity to develop improved strength and flexibility, to feel calm, have clarity of mind and come away with a greater sense of harmony and balance. Join me in a space where you can breathe at ease, discover peace, and be in a community where you will find genuine support, connection and friendship.”
